Eric M. Owings, 26, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Elkhart on August 28, 1995, to Craig and Elizabeth (Ray) Owings, who both survive him.

He is also survived by his brother, Luke Owings; paternal grandparents, Doug and Dorothy Street; uncles, Kevin (Julie) Owings, Tracy Butler, Mike (Ruth Weinbrom) Brewer; and a host of cousins and extended family. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Jan Ray.

Family and friends are called to gather at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from 2-4 and 5-6 p.m. A celebration of life service will follow at 6:00 p.m. In accordance with his family's wishes, cremation will follow services and Eric will be laid to rest at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart at a later date. Eric was an intelligent and talented man with a quick-witted sense of humor. He worked at MORryde Inc. as a service technician and was an incredibly hard worker who was loved by many of his customers and coworkers. Eric had a warm and caring personality and was always willing to help those in need. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing lead guitar, headbanging to the best Black and Hardcore metal bands around, spending time with his many cats, and watching classic action and horror movies with his brother, Luke. Eric will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.
