ELKHART — Elton R. McClellan, 80, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, May 4, while in his residence.
He was born May 20, 1934, in Quinnesec, Mich., to Walter R. and Mabel B. (Click) McClellan.
On May 20, 1956, he married his wife of 58 years, Sharon J. (Calahan) McClellan, in Elkhart.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include one daughter, Denise (Edward) Foxworthy of Indianapolis; three sons, David (Terri) McClellan of Elkhart, Duane (Donnetta) McClellan of Elkhart and Dana (Lois) McClellan of London, Ky.; one sister, Evelyn Moore of Bradenton, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Dorothy White, Miriam Hoffman and Esther Baker; and one brother, Marvin McClellan.
Elton proudly served in the U.S. Army. He later worked at CTS for 52 years prior to his retirement. Following retirement, Elton often enjoyed spending time gardening, going to antique car shows and feeding his birds.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the noon Friday, May 8, celebration of life service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Tim Sheets of Northside Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Entombment will follow in Rice Cemetery. The U.S. Army and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19 will render military graveside honors.
