She was born Sept. 14, 1925, in Elkhart to Frank and Euda (Kramer) Beck. She married Jack Commons on Oct. 10, 1948, in Elkhart.

He survives along with one son, Ron (Maria) Commons of Middlebury; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Iona Kufeldt of Bristol.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday in Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol, with the Rev. Keith McFarren of Faith United Methodist Church, South Bend, officiating.

Mrs. Commons was a graduate of Elkhart High School and a nursing college in Chicago. She was a registered nurse at Elkhart General Hospital for many years. She formerly worked as an industrial nurse at CTS Corp. Mrs. Commons and her husband have owned Hilltop Ceramics in Bristol since 1971. She enjoyed traveling and making ceramics.
