ELKHART -- Elnora May Nifong, 91, of Elkhart, died at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, in her home.

She was born April 19, 1919, in Elkhart to Bryce and Sarah (Willis) Pawling.

She is survived by her son, Darrell (Judy) Nifong of Elkhart; daughter Rita Nifong of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Elnora was preceded in death by two sons, Toby and Colin Nifong.

Elnora was a homemaker. She was a 28-year breast cancer survivor, an Elkhart High School graduate, an avid Notre Dame football fan and enjoyed watching all the judge shows on television. She also liked doing word search puzzles.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Billings Funeral Home.
