ELKHART -- Ellen E. Stephenson, 75, of Elkhart , died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 20, 2009) in Golden Living Center.

She was born April 15, 1933, in Elkhart County to Joseph and Pearl (Frank) Jetter. She married Henry Dale Ostrom; he died in 1954. She married Herby Charles Stephenson on Dec. 25, 1985, in Elkhart . He died July 1, 2003, in Searcy, Ark.

Mrs. Stephenson is survived by nine sons, Dale (Janice) Ostrom, Thomas Ostrom, Kenneth (Joyce) Ostrom, Brian (Stephani) Ostrom, Chuck Stephenson and Michael Stephenson, all of Elkhart , Clancy Stephenson and Art (Holly) Stephenson, both of Three Rivers, Mich., and Clifford Stephenson of Niles, Mich.; three daughters, Debbie (Gary) Triolo of Denver, Merrilyn (David) Bannow of Jones, Mich., and Chris (Jerry) Dentler of Three Rivers; 27 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald (Charlene) Jetter of Goshen.

Mrs. Stephenson retired from the quality control department at Federal Paperboard, Elkhart . She loved to visit with family and friends, and enjoyed camping, spoiling her pets and watching Animal Planet. She attended Elkhart High School.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today at Plum Grove Cemetery, Union, Mich. Capt. Steve Woodard of the Salvation Army will officiate. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart , assisted the family with arrangements.
