ELKHART — Elizabeth "Liz" O. Jones, 80, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, at Valley View Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 3, 1936, in Hazen, Ark., to Ollie Smith and Mattie M. Bratcher.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda (Durell) Jones-Ellis of Elkhart, O. Jean (Kim) Jones-Royal of South Bend and Doris Jones of Elkhart; one son, Otis Jerome (Sandy) Jones of Elkhart; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Jones; one sister, Willie Mae Smith; one brother, Lonnie Jack Bratcher; and one son, Otis Jones Jr.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, funeral service at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 802 W. Garfield Ave, Elkhart. Pastor Danny Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in memory of Elizabeth.
