ELKHART -- Friends of Eleanor E. Symmes may call one hour prior to today's 11 a.m. funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Michael Lake will officiate and interment will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Ms. Symmes, 69, of 1400 W. Franklin St., died at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 1, 2006) in Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born March 23, 1937, in Indianapolis, to Leonard and Marie (Hornady) Symmes.

She is survived by four sons, Steve C. (Joanna) Headrick of Elkhart, Richard V. (Tina) Headrick of Goshen, David B. Headrick of Ladoga and Michael D. (Donita) Headrick of New Ross; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, June Swit of Franklin.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marsha A. Headrick, who died in 1968.

Ms. Symmes formerly was employed as a PBX operator in Indianapolis and worked in various factories in the Elkhart area. She also was a Christian.
