Ed was a tender hearted and intelligent man who was dearly devoted to his faith in the Lord and family. He served proudly in the United Sates Army during the Vietnam War in Okinawa. Ed worked as a tool designer for Adams Engineering for several years, was a member of Open Door Church, and later became an active member of Grace Brethren Church in Mishawaka. Ed loved all kinds of music and especially enjoyed going to concerts, musicals, and operas. In his spare time, he loved fishing on Simonton Lake with his daughter and was a regular visitor to the Nappanee Library where he would read.
Spending time with his grandchildren meant the world to Ed and he remained active in their lives by helping out with his grandsons' cub scout's troop. In addition to the library, he made an impression on his Nappanee neighbors by taking casual long walks through the downtown area and by serving as a member of the Nappanee Town Council. He had a fascination with mechanics and developed a love of engineering at a young age. Ed loved going to car shows to look at all the sports cars, visiting the 4-H Tractor pulls, and seeing the occasional Monster Truck Rally. Above all his interests, his faith and family took precedence and he often looked forward to family gatherings. Ed will be dearly missed by his loving family and many friends.
