ELKHART — Edward L. "Ed" Ford, 58, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Feb. 6, 1958, in Elkhart to Weldon L. and Betty S. (Hodge) Ford.
On August 26, 2000, he married Pearl K. (Mays) Ford in Bristol.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include one daughter, Amanda Marie (Rudy) Boals of Middlebury; one sister, Angela (Chip) Tompkins of Granger; one brother, Randy Ford of Granger; father, Weldon L. Ford of Elkhart; two grandchildren, Wyatt Edward Boals and Ava Lynn Boals, both of Middlebury; mother-in-law, Chloe Mays of Bristol; two nephews, Nick (Hillary) Tompkins of Fort Collins, CO. And Brandon Ford of Elkhart; one nieces, Autumn (Jeremy) Stout of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his mother on Jan. 23, 2016.
Ed proudly served in the US Army and was later employed at Viking Formed Products, Sea Nymph, American Van Interiors, Ivy Terrace and later at Mid-City Supply.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the 6 p.m. celebration of life service on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart.
Pastor Gary Sheets will officiate.
Inurnment of his cremated remains will be held at a later date at Rice Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Ed.
