Edward Wayne "Ed" Gillespie, 76, of Elkhart, passed away after an extended illness on Friday, October 20, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Berwind, WV to the late Willard and Vivian (Johnson) Gillespie, who have preceded him in death.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Linda Gillespie; children, Aaron (Angela) Gillespie and Tracy (Bill) Lehman; grandchildren, Christian (Brittany) Frauli, Alicia (Jason) Albert, Vivian Lehman, Kameron (Ashley) Dyson, Kelsi Gillespie, and Calypso Gillespie; and sister, Carmelita Pfaender.

In accordance with Ed's wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. A private celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at The Vine Church, 2616 Peddlers Village Rd #2, Goshen, IN 46526 with Ed Wright officiating with an hour of visitation prior. Memorial donations may be given to The Vine Church.

Ed served proudly in the United States Marines from 1968 to 1970. Ed lived life to the fullest and always had a smile on his face. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved playing practical jokes whenever he could. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing. Most of all he loved sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and he loved me (Linda).
