Obituary

Edward Eugene Mamoran

August 5, 1930 – November 27, 2023

Our beloved patriarch, Edward E. Mamoran entered into God's Kingdom on November 27th in Mishawaka, Indiana

He was born to Katie Mamoran Paxton in Charleston, WV on August 5, 1930. He grew up in Shrewsbury, WV and graduated from East Bank High School, East Bank, WV in 1948. When Edward was younger, one of his favorite activities was participating in the youth group through his church. Starting at age 12 and until graduation, he would deliver the newspaper daily to approximately 50 customers. He graduated from Chicago Technical College in 1950 with a degree in architecture.

In 1950, Edward met Ruth ''Boots' Powell, a match truly made in heaven. They were wedded shortly thereafter on June 14th, 1950, in Shrewsbury, WV, and went on to have 4 children together. In 1958, they moved to Lebanon, Virginia and in 1970, they moved to Elkhart, Indiana.

Mr. Mamoran retired from Plumrose Inc. in 1996 and previously worked for Nipsco in Wheat Field, IN for 8 years. He also worked for Appalachian Power Co. in Cleveland, VA for 20 years.

Edward was a loyal servant to God, first and foremost. He loved the church and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible. He was an avid member of Elkhart County Community Baptist Church. There he loved to sing and often led the congregation in song. He enjoyed woodworking and building things from the ground up and cherished time spent with family and church.

Edward joins his beloved ''Boots'', who preceded him on July 2, 2003. his son, Edward E. Mamoran Jr., grandson, Danny Staley who passed away in 2017, and his mother in Heaven. Others who waited for him at the pearly gates include numerous family members from the Powell family and his brother J.W. Paxton.

He is survived by many Family members, including his current wife Mary who has selflessly taken care of him and devoted herself to his well being, to which we are eternally grateful. Also surviving are his children and grandchildren, Carol Nichols, Steven ''Hank'' (Cindy) Mamoran, Cheri (Rich) Murphy, Lisa (Tony) Bails, Bradley (Amy) Whalen, and Jessica Miller along with a multitude of great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, from noon to 1 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart with a service at 1 p.m. officiated by Pastor Ed Richie. Following the service, Ed will be laid to rest at Prairie Street Cemetery.

He will be sorely missed by all of us here on earth and we are blessed to have been surrounded by his love and patience during his 93 years of life.

John 16:22 KJV

And ye now therefore have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
