ELKHART — Edna C. Alexander, 88, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Greenleaf Health Campus in Elkhart at 2:40 p.m. with her family at her side.
She was born in Elkhart to the late Wilbur and Grace Troup on March 30, 1923. She later married Don Alexander in Mentone in 1947. He passed away in Elkhart in 2000.
Surviving are a son, James L. "Jim" Alexander of Elkhart; a brother, Boyd (Charlotte) Troup of Jones, Mich.; grandchildren Jamie Wagner of Florida, Jack (Heather) Alexander of Granger, Don (LeeAnn) Alexander of Lakeville and David (Lydia) Alexander of Osceola; and seven great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Laura Hunsberger and Betty Speicher, preceded her in death.
In accordance to Edna's wishes, cremation has taken place at Altera Cremation Services of Elkhart under the direction of Billings Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at noon Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at Adamsville (Mich.) Cemetery.
Edna worked at Miles Laboratories during World War II, manufacturing mess kits and first aid kits for the military.
