BRISTOL — Edith A. DeGraffreed, 74, of Bristol, passed away Wednesday morning, March 29, 2017, at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart with her loving family at her side.
Edith was born June 5, 1942, in Elkhart, to the late Paul and Irene James.
On Sept. 15, 1983, she married William E. "Graff" DeGraffreed in Elkhart.
He survives with her five children, Robert (Karen) Rich of Warsaw, Brett (Mike) Rich of Maryville, Tennesse, Dawn Rich and Bart Rich, both of Elkhart and Stacie (Eddie) Tredway of Three Rivers, Michigan; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her brother, David James of Elkhart; and sister Marjorie Criffield of Mishawaka.
Edith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
She was a graduate of Elkhart High School, enjoyed doing crafts and was a member of the Red Hat Society.
She loved to spoil her grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at the Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
A private family prayer service will follow. In honoring Edith's wishes, cremation was chosen.
In lieu of flowers, her family kindly request memorials are given to Elkhart Hospice House.
