Edgar Hatfield Jr., 65, of Granger, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend. He was born on March 6, 1957, in Benton Harbor, MI to the late Edgar Hatfield Sr., the late Lavella Janie (Holliday) Hatfield, and biological father, Fredy Dean.

Edgar is survived by his children, Iren Rayshond Hatfield and Tiffany (Derrel Hood) Hatfield; 12 grandchildren; one great grandchild; siblings, Dorothy Sanders, Bettie (Blease) White, Mearl Williamson, Beverly Diane Taylor, Jerome Whitner, Darlene Moore, Pastor James (Betty) Holliday, Wilda (Mala) Holliday, Kirk Holliday, Mark Holliday, Lonnie (Sharon) Jenkins; and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elviry and Alfred Burtis; paternal grandparents, Rosene and Arlandis Holliday Sr.; siblings, Sadie Humphry, Larcen (Lee) Harris, Brenda Lee, Thomas (Ellen) Holliday, Arlandis Holliday Jr, Victor Holliday, and Todd Witte; and brother-in-law, Bruce Taylor.

Edgar was a kind, fun loving, and giving man who would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He proudly served in the United States Marines and attended Grace College. Edgar worked for JBS US Food Incorporation for several years. He was a member of Greater Wayside Church of God and Christ and an active member of the UFCW Local 700. Edgar enjoyed spending time with his family and due to his adventurous spirit, he loved to travel. He also had an affinity for Chinese food and frequented several of the local Chinese cuisine restaurants. Edgar was a loving father, brother, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his loving family.

No Visitation will be held at this time and celebration of life will be held at a later date. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart was entrusted to care for Edgar's services.
