Earnest Jones, 76, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. Earnest was born on November 5, 1946 in Glendora, Mississippi to the late Willey Jones and Lillie Mae Sanders.

Surviving are his children, Earnest Ray Jones, Brian L. Williams, Anthony "Tony" Williams, Orlando Sleepers and David Warner; also 4 daughters, Linda Carr, Glenda (Eddie) Love, Aisha Grey and Jalanda Grey; a brother Eddie Jones; and sisters, Maggie Burks, Alice Sanders and Wilhelmina Sanders; 32 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relative and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; sons, Jamyron Grey, Oscar Jones, Charles L. Jones ; brothers, Rev. John Price, Robert Sanders and sisters Linda Watson-Sanders and Bertha Williams.

Earnest retired from the City of Elkhart after 33 years, as a truck driver with the street department. He was a longtime member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. He likes all sports, but basketball was the sport he loved to play and excelled in. The San Antonio Spurs, was his favorite basketball team. Earnest also like to work in his yard, and always had a clean car. A private family visitation and short service was held.  Pastor Danny Brown prayed. cremation has taken place.
