He was born July 25, 1940, in Elkhart, to Frank and Helen (Hoffmaster) Stout. On May 29, 1970, in Elkhart, he married Juanita J. Johnson.

She survives, along with one son, Gene (Kim) Johnson of Elkhart; one daughter, Sharon Justice of Elkhart; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Frank (Laura) Stout of Elkhart.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Stout.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Friday funeral service, all at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Vanette Kashmer, spiritual care counselor with Hospice & Palliative Care, will officiate. Burial will take place in Prairie Street Cemetery.

Mr. Stout formerly worked for Williams Products and Shelter Components in Elkhart. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going to Las Vegas, but most important to him was watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their activities at Jimtown.

Mr. Stout was a Korean War veteran.
