He was born Aug. 17, 1948, in Van Buren County, Mich., to Harold and Theresa (Ziesama) Myers. On Sept. 3, 1988, in Elkhart he married Cynthia R. Hardesty.
She survives along with three sons, Earl E. Myers Jr. and Donald H. (Patti) Myers, both of Elkhart, and Jack A. Myers, at home; three stepgrandchildren; three brothers, Bob Myers of Decatur, Mich., Orlo (Marlene) and Orville (Ann) Myers, both of Paw Paw, Mich.; three sisters, Cora Bogart of Lawton, Mich., Sue Sirrine of Paw Paw and Debbie (Mark) Shugars of Decatur.
Friends may call one hour prior to the 1 p.m. Friday funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Ron Bell of Grace Bible Church will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Mr. Myers retired from the City of Elkhart on Aug. 29, 2003, after working for the Board of Public Works for 33-and-a-half years. He enjoyed being with his family and watching the Cubs, NASCAR and Notre Dame.
