ELKHART -- E. Evelyn Cour, 95, of Elkhart, passed away at 5:10 a.m. on Saturday (March 5, 2011) at Greenleaf Health Campus.
She was born Feb. 29, 1916 in Pierceton to Jacob Mendich and Adella (Galbreath) Clark.
Survivors include a son, Rick (Lisa) Cour of Elkhart; two daughters, Jean (Jake) Thompson of Winnemucca, Nev., and Linda (Chuck) Carnabuci of Houston; a sister, Dolores Shrock of Elkhart; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Atkins; second husband Leonard Cour; brother Howard Clark; sister Donna Clark; and a grandson, David Starcher.
Evelyn worked in the packaging area at Miles Laboratory for more than 20 years. Prior to that she worked at Excel Corporation and Hoosier Cleaners.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, volunteered at the Elkhart YMCA and was a part of the Executive Club at the Greenleaf Senior Center.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A 2 p.m. graveside service will follow at Rice Cemetery. Pastor Steven Mischke of Peace Lutheran Church will officiate.
