UNION, Mich. -- Duane J. Cloud, 81, of Union, died at 4:41 p.m. Friday (Sept. 18, 2009) in his home.

He was born Aug. 11, 1928, in Cassopolis to George Russell and Ethel May (Chiddister) Cloud.

Mr. Cloud is survived by one daughter, Marcia A. Cloud of Elkhart, Ind.; one son, Gregory D. Cloud of Elkhart; five grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Smith of Constantine and Edith (Terry) Schrock of Union; and two brothers, Kenneth (Ann) Cloud of Cassopolis and Thomas (Sue) Cloud of North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Cloud; and four siblings, Leonard, Lloyd and Dean Cloud and Alice Laws.

Mr. Cloud worked as a machine operator at Adams & Westlake and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, doing yard work around his home and spending time with his family.

There will be no visitation. A graveside service and interment of cremated remains will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Plum Grove Cemetery. Mr. Terry Schrock will officiate.
