Douglas Allen Fager, 55, of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

Doug was born in Elkhart, IN on May 8, 1970 to Donald Fager and Karolyn (Hughes) Zickafoose. He married the love of his life, Michelle (Yermasek) Fager on July 15, 2013.

Doug is survived by his wife of 12 years, Michelle Fager of Elkhart; his mother, Karolyn (Kevin) Zickafoose; father, Donald Fager; children, Savanna Fager, Kayla (Shawntes) Gray and Kevin (Adrienne) Kelly; adored grandchildren, Aris, Russell and Ozni; brothers and sisters, Kristi (Corey) Cox, Kasey (Ernie) Ambs, Amanda (Seelye) Clements, Judah (Jasmine) Zickafoose, Isaac (Kinsey) Zickafoose, Janna Zickafoose (Maurice Piper) and Josiah Zickafoose and 14 nieces and nephews.

Doug lived for the weekends! Along with his wife, Michelle, enjoyed riding their bicycles on the area trails with a restaurant in mind. Together, they could often be caught sampling the various microbrews that the area had to offer.

Doug enjoyed song writing and playing his acoustic guitar.

Doug would often confiscate his favorite treat from his family…COOKIES!

Most of all, Doug was a family man, a proud grandfather and he would do anything for the ones he loved.

He was sweet, confident and he had a silly sense a humor.

A Celebration of Doug's Life will be held in May of 2026 closer to his birthday.
