ELKHART -- Dottie (Martin) Jones, 67, of Elkhart, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 7, 2008) at the home of her daughter, Jill L. (Steve D.) Rumble, Goshen, after an extended illness.

She was born Jan. 7, 1941, in Goshen to Ellis M. and Clyda I. (Geiser) Martin.

Ms. Jones is survived by one son, Jack S. Grove of Elkhart; one daughter, Jill L. (Steve D.) Rumble of Goshen; two brothers, Ken O. (Sally) Martin of Carmel and Allen F. (Earline) Martin of Great Bend, Kan.; three granddaughters, Jesse R. Raven, Lynnsey P. Rumble and Kennadie F. Rumble, all of Elkhart; two grandsons, Thomas M. Grove of Indianapolis and Brennan P. Rumble of Elkhart; one sister-in-law, Jan Martin of Osceola; and her former spouse and father of her children, Lynn M. (Barb) Grove of Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ron Martin.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at Olive Mennonite Church on C.R. 3, Elkhart. Pastor David Harper of Bible Baptist Church in Wakarusa will officiate. As per Dottie's wishes, her remains have been cremated. There will be a meal immediately following the memorial service at Olive Mennonite Church.

Dottie worked for her parents' catering business for many years, specializing in cake decorating. Later she worked as a baker for several area restaurants. She attended Bible Baptist Church in Wakarusa. She loved to be outdoors and enjoyed doing yardwork and tending to her roses in her garden. She was an avid Chicago Bulls fan and loved spending time with her grandchildren, collecting antiques and lavishing her pet Yorkie, Tia.

Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is handling arrangements.
