ELKHART -- Dorothy Evelyn Rozema, 76, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday evening, Dec. 7, 2008, at Hospice House of Elkhart.

She was born in Chicago on Sept. 18, 1932, to the late John and Mary (Protzer) Van Ness.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Bradley L. Rozema and Brian A. (Julie) Rozema, both of Indianapolis, and Arthur E. (Meghan) Rozema of Milwaukee. Also, two daughters, Fawn L. (Tom) Atkinson of Elkhart, and Lynne Rozema Brown of Fishers. Dorothy is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, Michelle (Matt) Bontrager, Allison and Maya Rozema, Maxwell and Jeremiah Rozema, Haley and Mackenzie Brown and Isabel, Cecelia, Andrew and Gabriel Rozema, as well as her sisters, Mildred Dier of Lompoc, Calif., and Lois Peach of Shawano, Wis.

Dorothy was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Dorothy was a homemaker and loved to spend time with her grandkids. She was very thoughtful when it came to her family and enjoyed sending small gifts and photos to them. Dorothy loved to shop and had a big heart when it came to animals.

Please join her family and friends in celebrating her life on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, where a tribute service will follow at 4 p.m. officiated by Pastor Jean A. Stockman with Faith Community Church. At her per her wishes, cremation has taken place.
