Obituary

ELKHART — Dorothy Arlene Neimann, 82, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, April 17, at Golden Living Center in Elkhart from natural causes.

She was born in Elkhart on June 25, 1932, to the late William O. and Abbie M. (Clipp) Hartwick.

Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl (Gregory) Akin; her brother, William (Pat) Hartwick; and granddaughters Amanda (Joshua) Gobble and Amy Akin, all of Elkhart. Six great-grandchildren survive as well.

Dorothy's life will be celebrated with a memorial service at Billings Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday, April 27. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. The Rev. Jason Freiburger of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church of Elkhart will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery in Elkhart.

Dorothy worked at Elkhart General Hospital as a medical records clerk nearly her entire life, retiring in the mid-1990s. She loved to sing and was a former member of the Bonnyville Mill chapter of the Sweet Adelines. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
