She was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Kniman, Ind., to Homer C. and Alma (Cooper) Woosley.
Ms. Howard is survived by one son, James E. (Cheree) Thews of Goshen; one daughter, Sharon M. Allen of Ferndale, Wash.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Norman (John) Cowen of Columbia City, Betty Hale of Warsaw and Beverly Shepherd of North Judson.
There will be no visitation or services. Cremation has taken place; a private family burial service will be in June in Little Pine Cemetery, Goshen. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is assisting with arrangements.
Ms. Howard worked many years as a supervisor at Turtle Creek (now Riverside Village) nursing facility, until her health required an early retirement. She was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and her grandchildren's Little League games. She liked to cook and spend time with her family and friends.
