Obituary
ELKHART — Dorothy I. Higgins, 93, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, in her residence.
She was born Sept. 22, 1920, in Murphysboro, Ill., to Fred and Beulah (Lambert) Lipe.
On Jan. 27, 1940, she married the late Raymond W. Higgins in Jackson, Mo.
Survivors include one son, Charles R. (Judy) Higgins of Elkhart; two grandchildren, Donna (Michael) Buck of Bristol and Darrell (Jennifer) Higgins of Elkhart; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Max, Billy and Rex Lipe.
In addition to being a loving homemaker, Dorothy was previously employed at the International Shoe Co. and Prim Hosiery in Chester, Ill. She attended Ottawa Baptist Church.
Private graveside services will be Wednesday, Sept. 3, in Rice Cemetery in Elkhart.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Dorothy.
Funeral services are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
