ELKHART — Dorothy E. Crawford, 89, of Elkhart's Boardwalk Retirement Community, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Greenleaf Health Campus in Elkhart.
She was born Dec. 9, 1922 in Elkhart to Milo and Malva (Thomas) Walters. On Nov. 19, 1941, she married Robert E. Crawford in Elkhart.
She was a graduate of Elkhart High School in 1940.
In addition to her husband of 71 years, other survivors include three sons, Dale G. Crawford of Fort Wayne, James A. (Judith) Crawford of Goshen and Steven R. Crawford of Elkhart; four grandsons, Michael (Angela) Crawford, Christopher Crawford, Jeffrey Crawford and Jason Crawford; and four great-granddaughters.
Dorothy worked as a secretary at CTS for 10 1/2 years, for the Elkhart city attorney and in police department administration for chiefs David Pennington, Alex Perez and William Wargo.
There will be no visitation or services other than a private committal service at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or Faith Mission.
