ELKHART — Doris June Kehr, age 82, passed away in her sleep when her earthly body, overwhelmed by a combination of cancer and Alzheimer's, succumbed on Dec. 3, 2018, in Elkhart, IN.

Doris was born in Wakarusa, IN, on April 25, 1936. She graduated from Wakarusa High School in 1954. Shortly thereafter, she married Curtis L. Kehr and had three children; Randy, Karen, and Brenda. The couple later divorced.

Doris developed a career as a bookkeeper and worked many years for Sears where she met her partner Henry Mason. She also worked for K & S Electric and Family Services of Elkhart County where she was recognized for her outstanding work and service to others. She enjoyed writing poetry, listening to music, and was an accomplished Master Gardener.

She was preceded in death by her parents Forrest J. and Arvilla M. Anglemyer, a grandchild; Brittney Kehr, and her partner Henry "Hank" Mason. She is survived by 2 sisters, Connie Troyer of Union, MI and Linda Anglemyer of Elkhart, IN; three children, Randy L. Kehr of South Bend, IN, Karen (Tom) Kehr Savage of Middlebury, IN, and Brenda (Mark) Kehr Mossholder of Morrison, CO, eight grandchildren; Julie, Megan, Aaron, Curtis, Ashley, Joseph, Ben, and Robert, and three great grandchildren; London, Sienna, and Cohen.

Doris requested there be no public funeral, but rather a memorial service and life celebration to be held on a warm, sunny day. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
