Doris A. Howell, 72, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Manila, Arkansas on September 26, 1951, to the late A.Q. and Wilma (Bryant) Howell.

Doris is survived by her children, Troy Tidwell and Christina Bobiles; grandchildren, Hailee Tidwell, Parker Tidwell, Jaxson Tidwell, and Mia Bobiles; and brother, Bill (Chris) Howell.

She will be laid to rest at Prairie Street Cemetery, 301 E Hively Ave, Elkhart, IN 46516. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating.

Doris was a simple lady with a loving and courageous heart. She was a kind and devoted mother who did everything she could to take care of her children and was her family's fierce provider. Doris would do anything to help anyone in need, even if it meant giving the shirt off her back.

She was a line worker for several years prior to retiring and continued to be a hard worker long after her retirement. Family meant the world to Doris, and she would often take her children, when they were younger, to visit their grandparents in Mississippi despite the difficulty of travel. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and appreciated the occasional family outing to Hacienda, her favorite restaurant. Doris will be greatly missed by her loving family.
