ELKHART — Doris C. Goodwin, 86, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday morning, May 27, at Eastlake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
A native of New York, she was born in Hempstead on Long Island on Nov. 27, 1927.

She graduated from Hempstead High School.
Doris married Harold Goodwin on July 25, 1960, in Elkhart. He died Aug. 11, 1998.
Doris was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Humes; son Kenneth "Bubby" Goodwin; grandson Christopher Goodwin; great-grandson Dillon Goodwin; and brother William J. Parker.
She is survived by grandchildren Misty Miller and Leah Butler of Elkhart, and Josh Brown of Kansas; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; an "adopted" daughter, Joann McCune of Elkhart; and niece Sandy Moelius of New York.
Doris was a homemaker and worked for 25 years at L & M Bar, now Hardy's, on SouthMain Street.
Doris loved her dogs and spending time with her family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at Billings Funeral Home. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 30, in Rice Cemetery. All are invited for a time of sharing memories and a final toast to Doris, from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 1, at Franklin Street Tavern.
