ELKHART: Doris L. Cox, 91, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the home of her daughter.  Doris was born on January 20, 1927 in Elkhart, to the late John A. and Vinnia (Goldy) Mapes. Doris was preceded in death by her two husbands, Donald Ellis and Truman Cox Sr., as well as 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

Surviving are daughters, Kathleen Ellis and Rebekah Welch; grandchildren Brittany Harrison, Haley Renee Welch; 5 great grandchildren; Khyia Ricketts, Neviaeh Harrison, Bella Harrison, Brenden "Bubby" Harrison, Dayton Miracle; sister Rose Gillingham,  and brother-in-law and companion Clarence Flowers.

Doris was the dining room hostess at Hubbard Hill Estates for 15 years, retiring in 1992. She attended Elkhart High School and was of the Nazarene faith. She loved gardening, flowers and her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandkids.

Services celebrating Doris's life are cancelled until further notice.  Per her wishes, cremation will follow, with burial at a later date at Prairie St. Cemetery. The family kindly request memorials to the Center for Hospice Care.
