Doris Jean Johnson, 93, of Union, MI, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at her daughter's home.

Doris was born on April 13, 1928 in Elkhart to the late, Ernest and Mary Ellen (Merrill) Cooper. She is preceded in death by her parents; father of her daughters, Kenneth E. Johnson; and her brothers, Calvin and Perry Cooper and sisters, Rose Cooper and Grace and Laura Borsa.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Charlene (Ray) Cassity of Union, MI, Rhonda (Gary) Cook of Cassopolis, MI and Jolene Brothers of Vandalia, MI; grandchildren, Timothy Cassity, Ronald Cassity and Tamara Cassity; great grandchildren, Taylor, Kelly, Cody, Robyn and Cecilia; and 2 great great grandchildren, Joseph and Berkley.

Doris was a strong woman and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service for Doris will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 with visitation 1 hour prior from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Pastor Carl Henry of Northside Baptist Church is officiating. Graveside Service will follow at Plum Grove Cemetery in Union, MI.
