ELKHART -- Donnie Gene "Don" Toliver, 55, of Simonton Lake, died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 20, 2008) in Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born June 17, 1953, in Paoli to William L. "Grinny" and Ruth L. (Hupp) Toliver.
Donnie is survived by three sons, Matt Toliver, Troy (Angela) Eppert and Travis Eppert, all of Elkhart; one daughter, Heidi (Jerome) Koch of Mishawaka; 17 grandchildren; one sister, Sheri Kilgore of Crawfordsville; and his former wife, Susan Toliver of New Paris.
Donnie was preceded in death by his brother, Larry "Sonny" Toliver, and his parents, William "Grinny" and Ruth Toliver.
Donnie was a self-employed and independent tooling representative with his own company, KC Sales, for the Drake Corp. out of Huntingburg, Ind. He was also the owner and operator of IRP (Infinite Reverse Profiling) in Elkhart. Donnie was a 1971 graduate of Paoli High School, where he participated in and was past president of the FFA.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and boating, spending time on the land he owned in Grayling, Mich., playing the guitar and listening to all kinds of music. But his favorite and most special times were with his grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at the Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Friends may also call for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, funeral service at Billings Funeral Home. Pastor Ron Hyre of Messiah Fellowship in Howe will officiate. Burial and graveside services will follow at Adamsville (Mich.) Cemetery.
