Donna Marie Taylor, 71, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at her daughter's home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on October 23, 1953, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Homer and Paulette (Stiles) Martsolf, Donna lived a life defined by devotion to family, hard work, and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her  husband, Herman Taylor, on June 8, 2024; her brother, Paul Martsolf; and sisters, Viola Nordman and Joy Martsolf.

Cherishing her memory are her children: Richard Luther Smith II (Amber Nemeth), Mellisa Ann Smith-Adams (Derrik Adams), Kristine Marcella Moran (Dustin Hartman), Herman Taylor Jr. (Cathy), and Julie Taylor.

She was the proud grandmother of Richard L. Smith III, Ethan R. Smith, Gillian M. Allen (Dewayn), Emma R. Smith, Carson M. Smith, Angela P. Shultz, Nathan T. Shultz, Amanda Selesky (Branden), Bradley T. Moran, Britney E. Moran, Brionna M. Moran, Bridget P. Moran, Braedon Taylor, Shelby Lynn Taylor, Alyssa Pham, Roger and Neil; and great-grandmother to 11.

She is also survived by her sister, Caroline Troyer; sister-in-law, Marcella Martsolf-Asaro; many nieces and nephews; countless lifelong friends; and her faithful dog, Jack.

Donna was a true "jack of all trades," with a career that spanned seamstress work, RV manufacturing, and security. No matter the job, she approached it with unmatched work ethic, driven by her deep love and commitment to her family. Gifted with natural musical talent, Donna could play the accordion and organ beautifully by ear. She found joy in bowling nights with family and friends, and she loved the excitement of trips to the casino.

To those who knew her, Donna was a saint—compassionate, loyal, and the kind of friend whose love and friendship lasted a lifetime.

A Visitation for Donna will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.
