Donna Jean McClure (Canfield) of Elkhart, IN, passed away on July 16, 2023 at 4:37pm at the age of 75 after a battle with Vascular Dementia, surrounded by loved ones.

Donna was born in Montgomery County, WV to Minnie and Edward Canfield, who have both passed. Donna also had a sister named Barbara Johnson, aka "Jaws," who passed in recent years, and Donna missed her dearly. Donna later moved to Elkhart, IN for work, where she met and married the love of her life, L.C. McClure, in April of 1979. L.C. and Donna had 3 beautiful children, whom she is survived by: Matt (Cheryl) McClure, Jenna (Craig) Delong, and Lee (Amanda) McClure. She is also survived by 11 beautiful grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

At the age of 40, Donna got her G.E.D. after many hard working hours in a night program, to show her children it is never too late to succeed. Donna enjoyed family gatherings, spending lots of time with her grandchildren, being up North on a beach, and giving L.C. a hard time (in a loving way, of course). She enjoyed oldies music, watching Dirty Dancing over and over, and the Madea movies.

Donna was an independent, courageous, Christian woman with a Pentecostal background, and heart full of compassion for others. She cared for everyone she met. Donna would tell everyone "Don't sweat the small stuff" and "Lean on the Lord always." She read her Bible and made a point to pray for everyone she could. Above all, Donna was an incredible mother, grandmother, and devoted wife for 45 years. Dementia took many things from Donna, but NEVER her love for the Lord and her family. She will be missed dearly, but her memories and impact on the lives of those around her will live on forever.

Services celebrating Donna's life will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Longtime friend of the family, Pastor Danny Brown of Pilgrim Rest MBC will officiate. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until service time. After the service, cremation was chosen.
