Donald L. Eagen, 96, of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023 at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Don was born on March 5, 1927 in Mishawaka, IN to the late Frank and Fern Eagen.

Don is preceded in death by his son, Larry Eagen.

Don is survived by his children, Sue Ann (Danny) Hanna of Goshen, John Eagen of Elkhart, David (Deb) Kelley of La Porte, IN, Norman (Carol) Kelley of Elkhart, Sonny (Shirley) Kelley of Elkhart and Kevin (Stacey) Kelley of Elkhart and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Don served his country in World War II in the U.S. Army. He earned a World War II Victory Medal as a switchboard operator. Don was employed at C.T.S. for over 30 years.

In his younger days, Don was a bowler. He enjoyed walking and biking in his free time. Don watched Westerns and classic cartoons on television.

Don was a reserved man with a big heart and he always took care of his family.

A Funeral Service with military honors for Don will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the start of the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Little Pine Cemetery in Goshen.
