Donald P. Davenport, 87, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born on June 4, 1931 in Elkhart to the late Jesse and Anna (Moore) Davenport. Donald married Mary Lamb on July 10, 1951 in Angola; she survives at home after 67 years of marriage.

Surviving is daughter, Katherine "Kathy" (David) Lewis of Elkhart, son-in-law, Fred Stein, sister, Patricia Fye of Elkhart, four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents and his daughter, Becky Stein.

In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation will take place at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Elkhart. A private burial will follow at Rice Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.

Donald proudly served in the United States Army and had been a member of the VFW Post 88. He worked for LaBour Pump and NIBCO as a coremaker for many years before retiring. He was a simple man who loved to work out in the yard, watch football, and enjoyed watching NASCAR when it was on.
