BRISTOL -- Donald E. Campbell, 76, of Bristol died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 18, 2008) at home.

He was born April 25, 1932, to Lewis and Thema (Lehman) Campbell in Noble County. On Aug. 14, 1955, he married Sue Brossman in Vandalia, Mich.

She survives, along with a daughter, Julie L. Campbell of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a brother, Glen (Vyra) Campbell of Symonia, Ky.; a sister, Mary Kerns of Florida; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Campbell; and three brothers, LeRoy, LaVerne and Wayne Campbell.

Mr. Campbell was a self-employed contractor and carpenter for more than 35 years. A 1951 graduate of Elkhart High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge 599 and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, playing cards and family games and his cat, Lacey.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral services. Burial will be at a later date in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
