EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Donald William Bevilacqua, 77, of Edwardsburg, passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, in his residence.

He was born May 24, 1936, in Rock Island, Ill., to William Donald and Elizabeth (Hess) Bevilacqua. On Nov. 30, 1958, he married his wife of 54 years, Sharon L. (Dickeson) Bevilacqua.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Ann (Tim Turner) Bevilacqua of Wilmington, N.C.; two sisters, Bonnie Greene and Pat (Ed) Collmer, both of Niles; brother Terry (Wendy) Bevilacqua of Panama; and several nieces and nephews.

Donald was a 1954 graduate of Niles High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and then served in the U.S. Coast Guard for more than 20 years. Donald also worked in Wilmington as a commercial fisherman for 20 years.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Donald's life will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at American Legion Post 365, 25751 U.S. 12, Edwardsburg.
