GOSHEN — Dolores M. Fackelman-Jamison, 84, of Goshen, passed away Monday, Sept. 29, at Riverside Village in Elkhart.
She was born July 18, 1930, in Elkhart, to Fred C. Fackelman Sr. and Loretta V. (Welde) Fackelman.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary A. (Donald) Pettifor of Goshen; one son, Joseph (Jennifer) Kramer of Rockville; one stepson, Larry Jamison of South Bend; one brother, Harold Fackelman of Wanatah; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Fackelman of West Lafayette; four grandchildren, Jeanne (A.J.) Greaves of Virginia Beach, Va., David (Tiffany) Pettifor of South Bend, Stephen (Danielle) Pettifor of Goshen and Chloe Laurette Kramer of Rockville and one "adopted" granddaughter, Amanda Hinton; and four great-grandchildren, Alec Nelson, Natalie Greaves, A.J. Greaves and Lilah Quinn "Lolly Pop" Pettifor.
Additionally, the family wishes to extend a very special thank-you to Delores' angel, Mary Ellen (Denny) Harris, for her friendship, love and assistance over the years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husbands, William G. Williams and Marion Jamison; one daughter, Laurette Williams-Steinbecher; four brothers, Robert, Thomas, Daniel and Fred Jr. Fackelman; and one sister, Jeanne Kramer.
Dolores was a graduate of Jimtown High School and was recognized as the top typist in her graduating class. She was employed as a nurses aide at Elkhart General Hospital and later worked at Howmet Aluminum and at Doors and Drawers prior to her retirement.
Dolores often enjoyed playing cards and games, dancing, fishing, trips to the casino, sing-alongs and especially spending time with her family.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A memorial Mass will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 18, with visitation for an hour prior at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1108 S. Main St., Elkhart. The Rev. Matthew Coonan will officiate. Inurnment of her and her daughter, Laurette's, cremated remains will be in St. Vincent Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in memory of Dolores.
