She was born on Nov. 17, 1920, in Goshen to Floyd and Oca Mae (Price) Cox. She married Howard E. Cartwright on June 15, 1941, in Elkhart and he died on March 14, 1974.
She is survived by three sons, George E. (Lin) and Ted E. (Deborah) Cartwright, both of Bristol, and John E. (Lea) Cartwright of Bremerton, Wash.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Cox, and one sister, Juanita Weaver.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., and for one hour prior to the funeral service, which is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Billings. The Rev. Larry Kurtz of Faith United Methodist Church will officiate with burial to follow at Rice Cemetery.
Mrs. Cartwright worked at Shaw Jewelers for more than 17 years, then worked for Personalized Services, retiring after 20 years there. She was an Elkhart High School graduate and a member of Women of the Moose Lodge 73 since 1963. She was a longtime bowler at Oakland Lanes, a member of the Women's Bowling Association and a fan of movies, music and playing cards. She was active at Stratford Commons, where she lived since 1985, and was a past president of the tenants association there.
