Diane L. Ward, 67, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Woodland Manor after a brief stay.

Diane was born on March 21, 1955 in Elkhart to the late, Harry Ward and Donna (Cox) Rhine. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Donna and her brother, Brian Ward in 2018.

Diane is survived by her friend with whom she shared a home for 38 years, Berla A. Bowlby of Elkhart; siblings, Susan Metheny of Gaziantep, Turkey, Karyn (Dan) Shine of League City, TX, Weston Ward of Elkhart and Anne (Fred) Craft of Elkhart; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Diane was a lifelong resident of Elkhart and graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School. She retired after 28 years from Carpenter Company in Elkhart. Diane was a die hard "Trekker" who enjoyed travelling around the country attending Star Trek Conventions.  She was a member of the Indiana Star Trek Association. In her spare time, Diane was an avid reader of Fiction.

Diane was a deep thinker, kind and generous and she will be greatly missed.

A gathering of family and friends for Diane will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN.
