Diane L. Detwiler, 76, of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born in Elkhart on July 28, 1944 to the late Harold and Roberta (Ray) Hartman Sr.

Diane is survived by her loving husband, Edward L. Detwiler; sons, Roger G. (Gay) Eby and Darren L. (Christine) Eby; stepson, Eddie C. Detwiler; six grandchildren, Taylor, Alex, Shawn (Cassie), Brock, Dalton, and Cole; and one great grandson, Kian. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Christopher Eby; great grandson Shawn Eby II; and brother Harold Hartman Jr.

A celebration of life will take place on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 3-6 p.m. with a service to follow at 6:00 p.m. with Ed Frutig officiating at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. In accordance with Diane's wishes, cremation was chosen. A private family burial will take place in the new addition of Yellow Creek Cemetery in Goshen at a later date.

Diane was a kind, sweet, and well-rounded woman who loved to have a good time with her family and friends. On June 3, 1989 she married the love of her life, Ed Detwiler, in Reno, NV and together they have shared 31 wonderful years of marriage. Diane enjoyed making crafts, sewing, fishing with her grandchildren and husband, and playing a mean game of euchre that she would often win. She will be missed greatly by her loving family and many friends.
