She was born in Fresno, Calif., April 10, 1948, to the late Robert E. and Janet (Whiteaker) McConnell.
Surviving at home is her husband of 47 years, Mark S. Timlin, whom she married in Bloomington, Minn., Sept. 27, 1968.
Also surviving are her sons, Robert (Elizabeth) Timlin of New Hope, Minn., Ronald (Carol Collins) Timlin of South Bend and Jeffrey Timlin of Brainard, Minn.; brothers Tim (Kim) McConnell of Elkhart, Larry (Gail) McConnell of Tacoma, Wash., and David (Mary) McConnell of Etna Green; as well as a host of grand and great-grandchildren.

In accordance with the family's wishes, a private cremation is to take place with a memorial service at a later date.
Diana had previously worked at the Dakota County (Minnesota) Justice Building for more than 16 years before coming to the Elkhart area. She was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, and enjoyed sewing, reading and fishing, as well as doing things with her hands like baking or arts and crafts. She will be best remembered, however, for her family-oriented values and her immense, gracious and unconditional love for children of all ages.
Memorial donations may be given to the Shriner's Children's Hospital of Chicago or the St. Jude's Children's Hospital of Memphis, Tenn.
