IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Derrick L.
Woods Sr.
July 14, 1971 – February 14, 2026
Derrick Woods, lovingly known as “D-Love,” was born on July 14, 1971, and passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2026, at the age of 54.
Derrick attended Elkhart Central High School. He spent over 24 years of his working life employed with Dometic Corp, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
Derrick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was married to his beloved wife, Constance (Sheree) Woods, for 24 years. He cherished his role as a husband and took great pride in his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Constance (Sheree) Woods; his children: Deviance Miller, Deveion Reeves, Kierra Andrews, and Derrick Woods Jr.; Travis James, Tyesha Miles, & Charles Miles, and a host of grandchildren whom he adored deeply.
Derrick was a die-hard Chicago Bears fan who proudly wore his team colors and never missed a game. He was an amazing grandfather who absolutely adored his grandchildren. Known lovingly as “Papa,” he was the one who said yes when Grandma said no, always finding joy in making his grandchildren smile and laugh.
Derrick was also a devoted father who showed up consistently, by supporting each of his children in various ways, always present, always supportive, and always proud. Family meant everything to Derrick. He was dependable, loving, and genuine, the kind of man you could count on. His heart for his family, his loyalty, he will forever be remembered by all who know and love him.
Above all, Derrick deeply loved his wife, Constance (Sheree) Woods. Their 24 years of marriage were built on love, loyalty, and partnership. He cherished her, protected her, and stood by her faithfully through every season of life. Sheree was his heart, his home, and his greatest blessing. The love they shared was evident to everyone who knew them, and it will remain a lasting part of Derrick’s legacy.
Derrick was preceded in death by his father, Willie L. Woods, and his brother, Kenny Kemp.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Helen Woods; his siblings: Tramell (Lori) Woods of Indianapolis, Linda Kemp of Covington, Tennessee, Sheila Kemp of Memphis, Tennessee, Virginia Fraiser of Brighton, Tennessee, Cindy Echoles of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Paula (Marlin) Hartman of Indianapolis, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, & lifelong friends.
Derrick was a family man at heart. He loved deeply, protected fiercely, and showed up consistently for the people he cared about. His presence, laughter, and love will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Derrick passed away on his 24th wedding anniversary, a day that will forever hold special meaning for those who love him.
