Denver L. Fingerle, 90, of Elkhart, went Home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Riverside Village.
Denver was born on October 10, 1932, in Wabash Co., IN to the late Paul and Zelma (Blocher) Fingerle. He married the love of his life, Delores "Dee" Elaine (Williams) Fingerle on February 26, 1983, in Cass County, MI.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Dallas Fingerle, and grandson, Christian Hartpence.
Denver is survived by his wife, Dee Fingerle; children, Anthony "Tony" (Maria) Fingerle, Jackie (Donovan) Leidelmeyer, Jeffrey "Jeff" (Lisa) Fingerle, Terri (Jim) Merriman, Paul (Desiree) Companion, and Tony Companion; brother, Devon Fingerle; sister, Delores Maloy; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
Denver honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force and he was very proud of his service. He even played semi pro baseball while serving.
He was in sales for most of his life and especially enjoyed working with local farmers. His last job was working at Sam's Club in Goshen for 17 years. Denver enjoyed playing baseball and horseshoes. In his early years, Denver enjoyed fishing and biking with his wife, Dee. Denver was competitive by nature and stood by his strong convictions.
Family was everything to Denver. He was a kind man who loved to laugh and he will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Service with military honors will be at 11:00am on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating.
Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the start of the service from 10:00am to 11:00am at the funeral home. The graveside service and burial will follow at Adamsville Cemetery.
