GOSHEN — Dennis Duane Reafsnyder, 66, of Goshen, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 12, 2011, at his home following a battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 14, 1944, in Elkhart to Robert E. and Betty L. (Hart) Reafsnyder. He married the former Shirley A. Irons on June 5, 1965, in Elkhart.
She survives as well as his sons, Darin D. and Brian E. Reafsnyder, both of Goshen; grandchildren Staci, Susannah "Ann" and Derek Reafsnyder; parents Robert E. and Betty L. Reafsnyder of Canby, Ore.; brothers Doug (Vicky) Reafsnyder of Molalla, Ore., and Dana (Carol) Reafsnyder of Portland, Ore.; and sister Sandra (Daniel) Emmons of Scio, Ore. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Dennis worked for Miles Laboratories (Bayer) as a lab technician and supervisor from 1963 until 1995. He then went to work for Severn Trent Services specializing in water and wastewater treatment. Dennis was a Concord High School graduate and loved all sports. He was a leader, a problem solver and could "fix" anything.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take at Altera Cremation Services in Elkhart. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Rice Cemetery. Pastor Jim Brown of Grace Community Church will officiate.
