ELKHART — Dennis Allen McKrill, 57, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 14, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Sept. 6, 1957, in Elkhart, to Stanley A. and Ethel M. (Walther) McKrill.
Dennis is survived by his son, Jason A. McKrill of Elkhart; grandson Will McKrill of Elkhart; mother Ethel M. McKrill of Elkhart; three sisters, Debra (Chris) Reynolds of Elkhart, Kim Berry of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Kathy (Max) Weinhoft of Union, Mich.; former wife Susan McKrill-Metzger of Elkhart; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley A. McKrill, in 2006.
Dennis ran his own business, Denny's Home Improvement, for many years, doing construction and remodeling in the area. His passion was four-wheel-drive monster trucks and building show trucks, especially Chevy trucks. He also liked to drag race at Osceola Dragway. Dennis loved living on the river, boating and being around water. He will be missed by his faithful Weimaraner dogs, Lady and Niles.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Services celebrating his life will begin at noon Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the funeral home, where friends may call for an hour prior to the service. Pastor Mike Fisher will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.
