MISHAWAKA -- Dennis H. Hoist, 56, residing in Mishawaka, died Monday, June 13, 2011, at Regency Place of South Bend.
He was born Jan. 1, 1955, in Mishawaka to Glenn A. and Norma L. (Dennison) Hoist.
Surviving are his mother, Norma L. Hoist of Elkhart; sons Ben (Meagan) Yates of Granger and Jeremy Yates of Monticello; four grandchildren; brother David (Katie) Hoist and sisters Merrilynn Prchlik and Katay Hoist, all of Davison, Mich., and Carol (Mark) Boddy of Franklin, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Allen Hoist.
Dennis worked as a driver for UPS for many years. He was a 1973 graduate of Davison High School and attended Bethel College. He served for two years from 1975 to 1976, as an MP in the U.S. Army in Korea. Dennis had a wonderful voice and enjoyed singing and was proud to be a part of the Camerata Singers.
No visitation. A private family memorial service will take place on Saturday. Billings Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
