Dennis Joe Hayes, 57, of Elkhart, formerly of South Bend, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2020 at Elkhart Meadows after an illness.

Dennis was born on June 5,1963 in Elkhart to the late Jerry and Cleo (Mann) Hayes. Dennis is survived by his sister, Betty (Jim) Mann and brother Jerry Hayes, both of Elkhart; his nephew Brett (Kelli) Mann, of Goshen; nieces: Damie (Greg) Jones of Edwardsburg, MI, Nicky (Doug) Graham of Bristol, and Jeni Hayes of Elkhart; and many great -nieces and nephews. Proceeding him death are his parents, his sister, Sandy Shupert, and nephew John Frost. Dennis will also be missed by his former wife, Debbie Buscoe-Hayes, and his cat, Neena.

Dennis worked for Marine Fasteners for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed many summers fishing up in Petoskey with his father. Dennis was a huge animal lover as well, owning many cats and dogs over the years.

Per Dennis's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or services. Burial will take place on a later date. Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart is assisting the family.
