Dennis K. Greiner, 75 of Elkhart, passed away at his home on Thursday December 2, 2021 after a brief illness.

He was born November 4, 1946 in Elkhart to the late George and Gloria (Newman) Greiner.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Todd Greiner.

Members of the family left to cherish Dennis' memory include his three boys, Troy (Sheila), Thad and Keith Greiner, all of Elkhart, and eight grandchildren.

Dennis was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. Dennis also retired from Norfolk and Southern Railway after many years of loyal service. When Dennis wasn't working, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren, who he adored; taking them anywhere they wanted or needed to go. He is remembered as a lighthearted man who never missed an opportunity to squeeze in a joke. He was very knowledgeable about home improvements and car repair, both of which he passed down to his family. As a loving family man, he always made sure to put those he loved first, before himself. He also enjoyed mornings with his first love, coffee, both at home and at various Elkhart and Osceola restaurants; always making sure to tease the waitresses as well.

His laughter and the joy he brought to those around him will be missed dearly.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Elkhart from 4 to 6 PM on Tuesday 12-14-21 with military honors to be rendered at 6:00 pm by the United States Army Honor Guard and DAV 19 of Elkhart.
